At Lively Orthodontics, we take our job seriously. We know our patients want the best treatment available in the shortest time possible, which is why we use the most current technology available. Though technology has come a long way, there is a great deal of misinformation with regards to what the current technology can do for you. Unfortunately, a great deal of what you read or hear about in the news may be inaccurate, because no one takes the time to check the facts or you might be reading a paid advertisement. To date, there are no braces on the market that will cut treatment time in half, but there are braces that can significantly reduce treatment time when used in combination with proper diagnosing and treatment planning. We have been using Self-Ligating Technology since January 2002 and have found it to be the most efficient, comfortable, and hygienic technology available today.
Lively Orthodontics uses the In-Ovation Bracket System, which is a self-ligating technology. This means that the braces have a door which opens and closes to hold the wire into the braces rather than the more traditional rubber ties. This means less friction in the system, which means less pressure on the teeth which results in faster movement of the teeth. By combining the most current bracket technology with most current wire technology, we are able to see our patients every 8-12 weeks while, at the same time, reducing the overall treatment time. Bottom line, this technology has allowed us to treat our patients more comfortably, with shorter treatment times and fewer office visits. This is a great savings to our families in both time and money. And, did I mention that no one complains when their braces are removed earlier than expected.
In 1995, we were the first practice in our area to go "green", with computerized charting and check-in stations. We then progressed to email and text messaging appointment reminders along with automatic debiting as a payment option, eliminating the need for paper statements. For over 10 years, we have been using digital radiography (no chemicals and less radiation), digital photography, and 3-D digital modeling. This has eliminated the need to dispose of environmentally unfriendly chemicals, decreased paper usage and increased office efficiency. We are constantly looking for better ways to become even more efficient, effective and environmentally conscious.
